Basic Care Schedule

Broodmare Care Schedule

Month Broodmares Note
1 month prior to foaling - Vaccinate Flu/ Rhino, EWT/WNV
- Deworm: Strongid or Exodus
- Open caslick
Vaccinate and deworm 4 weeks prior to foaling (increases colostral antibodies and reduces foals parasite exposure).
1-2 days after foaling - Deworm: Febendazole (panacur)  
3 months after foaling - Vaccinate Flu/Rhino
- Dental
- Deworm: Eqvalan
** mare must be at least 30 days pregnant prior to vaccinating**
5 months gestation - Vaccinate for Rhino (EHV 1 inactive) (Pneumabort K or Prodigy Rhino Vaccine)
7 months gestation - Vaccinate for Rhino (EHV 1 inactive) (Pneumabort K or Prodigy Rhino Vaccine)
9 months gestation - Vaccinate for Rhino (EHV 1 inactive) (Pneumabort K or Prodigy Rhino Vaccine)
August - Deworm with Ivermectin  
October/November - Deworm with Quest Plus
